Poudre Learning Center Projects

The Poudre Learning Center is eager to work with area students to complete their projects. Whether it is a senior project, Eagle Scout project or anything in-between. Look below for ideas that can be completed at the PLC. Your ideas are welcome and, if you don't see it on the list below, that's okay, you will be able to work with a PLC staff member to decide if your idea is a good fit for the Poudre Learning Center.

To get started fill out and submit the Poudre Learning Center Project Application, then call the center for an project interview.

  • Garden ideas; sound wall, storage benches, secret garden, etc.
  • Replace raptor poles with oil drilling pipe or basketball standard like pole
  • Display board on back porch – notices and changing displays
  • Poudre trail kiosk panel
  • White board – “What do you see?”
  • Worm bins
  • Worm bin critter crate/ activities

  • Bird blind on dock and eagle viewing area
  • Compost bins at 83rd Ave. entrance
  • Shelters that are built to resemble tipi structures (similar to I-76 rest stop near the eastern Colorado Welcome Center)
  • Team Building or low ropes apparatus
  • Paint and refurbish trailer for wheelchair use
  • Permanent legs for top loading bee box
  • Soil pit covers
  • Wetland bridge and observation deck
